Account Sources

Values entered in this section of the screen will control where the account defaulting process will look for account information.  The Account Sources available for any specific Account Category is pre-determined by the system.  Each of these entities listed below have an optional Account maintenance screen available where you can specify entity specific account information to be used during the posting procedures.  If you have indicated that a particular Account Source should be referenced, the posting processes will attempt to lookup account information from the most specific level identified for the particular account category.

The fields in this section include (click on each to see where entity specific Accounts are managed):

• Organizations – it should only be available for a financial organization where the “This is a Legal Entity” radio button is selected.
• Pay Codes
• Project Types
• Project
• Task
• Employee Types
• Labor Categories
• Cost Elements
• Person
• Expense Types
• Additional Item Types
• Payment Methods

• Fixed Asset Class

Those Account Sources having a "---" (dash) mark, indicate that they are applicable to the particular Account Category.  Those Account Sources having a (check mark), indicate that they should be checked during the posting process when looking up an account for the transaction.  Again, the order of lookups for account information is from the most detailed level to the more general level, thus account information would be evaluated from the bottom to top on the list above.
