Calculated Hours

The Calculated Hours field is intended to reflect a refined ETC Hours value, by reducing a provided ETC entry by the number of actuals that have been entered since the Last Updated On date (when the ETC entry was last modified).

For example, consider the following if you have a budget of 40 hours for a task, and on a given Friday you entered 10 hours of actuals and provided an updated ETC on that day of 30 remaining hours.   The following week you enter an addition 8 hours on Monday and 8 hours on Tuesday to that task.   A project manager reviewing ETC information on Tuesday evening would then see your entered ETC of 30 hours, but would also be able to see the refined Calculated Hours of 14 (which is your ETC of 30 remaining hours less the 16 hours you worked since the ETC was entered).

This value is intended to provide a potentially more up to date representation of estimates to completion given actuals that have been entered since the latest ETC entries were made.

Depending on the Enable ETC Collection on Timesheet (unatime.etc_collection.enabled) property, end users can update their own ETC information via the Time >> ETC screen or via the Timesheet >> View Icon.

See ETC Wizard for more information about managing ETCs.
