Cost Element

The Cost Element field will contain a listing of cost elements.  

When initially defined, each cost element will be assigned to one of the following categories:

• Labor - cost elements (within a specific cost structure definition can be associated with users to categorize their time entry).  Typical examples may include "Direct Labor", "CONUS labor", and "OCONUS Labor".

• Other Direct Costs (ODCs) - cost elements can be associated with expense types to categorize ODCs, for example, equipment, sub-contractor or travel cost elements may be associated with existing Unanet expense types.

• Indirect Costs (aka Cost Pools) - cost elements can be categorized as a type of Indirect Cost (or cost pool) and subsequently have a particular formula associated with each Indirect Cost pool to calculate items such as "Fringe", "Overhead", and "G&A".
