This option can be enabled via the Allow Custom Time Periods (unatime.allow_custom_time_periods) property.

-- the delete icon can be used to remove a particular time period.  This icon will only appear for those time periods that do not have any timesheets associated with that time period.  Because the system has had logic added to clean up / remove a time period when the last timesheet is deleted for a given time period, this icon should probably never appear.

-- the edit icon can be used to modify several attributes of a time period. Note that in most instances, double clicking on a row will provide the same behavior as clicking the edit icon.

-- the approve icon can be used by Administrators to bulk approve all timesheets that are currently in the SUBMITTED or APPROVING status.  This feature is enabled via the Enable Administrator Bulk Approval (unatime.admin_bulk_approve.enable) property.   When used, the system will provide detailed feedback to the screen to itemize any timesheets that were included in the processing.
