Link Dates to Project / Task Dates
If the Link Dates to Project / Task Dates option is checked, the Plan dates are derived from the project (or task) dates (depending on whether the plans are made at the project or task level) and cannot be directly entered on a Planned Work entry.
When this option is used, a user can have one and only one Plan for a given project/task. As such, when setting this option, if multiple plans previously existed, they will all be removed and replaced with a single planned work entry.
As the related project/task dates are modified, all Plans having linked dates will also have their dates modified to reflect the new project/task dates.
Using the Default New Plans to be Linked to Project/Task Dates (unanet.default_dates_to_linked.plans) property, this checkbox can be checked by default when the Resource Planner accesses this screen.
Note that this may be particularly useful when used in conjunction with Task Dependencies feature, such that moving a task date will not only recalculate dependent task dates but also any linked Plan dates.
