Person Organization

Each Unanet user must be associated with an organization on their person profile.  This relationship is known as the person organization (and also sometimes referred to as a cost organization, cost center, charge back or home organization).

The list of available person organizations is defined by the Administrator on the Organization screens.  All time and expenses charged by a person are by default also charged to their associated person organization.

The association of a user to a person organization is managed on the People Profile screen.

Project Managers can override the default person organization for a project (on an assignment by assignment basis) via a person organization override (which can be defined on a project assignment).

Should a particular Person Organization be defined on any projects as an Org Assignment, associating a user with that organization will automatically grant them potential charging permissions to those projects.

Financial Organization Requirement

When using Financial Orgs (Use Financial Organizations (unanet.financials.use_financial_orgs) property enabled), those users having a classification of Salaried or Hourly (i.e., employees), must be associated with a Person Organization that is designated as a Financial Organization (configured via the Organization Edit >> Financials tab).  Should a user have any entry on the Person Profile >> Rate tab where the classification is Non-employee, this requirement is not enforced when editing the user's profile (but will be enforced during various posting activities).

Further, when changing a user's person organization, the new organization must be within the same Legal Entity (if the user has any existing timesheets or expense reports).

Time and Expense actuals can only be charged for users belonging to an active Person Organization, as such, when associating a user with a Person Organization (via the Person Profile), only active Person Orgs will be available for selection.
