Purpose
The Purpose field contains an explanation or overall purpose for an expense. Depending on your business policy, this may reflect a single expense item, all items for a particular business trip, all items for a span of time, etc. Presumably, the Purpose provided will help you identify the purpose for a particular expense report.
If your system is configured with the Require Purpose on Expense Reports (unasense.purpose.required) property enabled, this field will be required during expense report creation.
On some lists this value may be truncated for display purposes.
