Transaction Entry (aka Transaction Entry Allowed)
This set of fields is used to indicate whether an account will be available for transaction entry and if so, the date range entries allowed. This may be useful, for example, if you are introducing or retiring accounts as of a specific date.
- Transaction Entry Allowed - When this option is checked, this account will be available for transaction entry.
- Begin Date - This value will initially default to BOT when the Transaction Entry Allowed option is checked. When a date is specified, the account will only be available for transaction entry if the post date is greater than or equal to this date. When the Transaction Entry Allowed option is not checked, this entry is cleared and disabled. This date must be less than the End Date (when provided).
- End Date - This value will initially default to EOT when the Transaction Entry Allowed option is checked. When a date is specified, the account will only be available for transaction entry if the post date is less than or equal to this date. When the Transaction Entry Allowed option is not checked, this entry is cleared and disabled. This date must be greater than the Begin Date (when provided).
- Transactions Require Project - Determines whether a project will be required for any transactions posted to the account. Transactions posted to these accounts will be posted to both the GL and the Project systems. This may typically be used for project expense accounts.
Note that on the Account List, entries having date values of BOT or EOT will simply appear as empty entries, that is, only those date entries having a non-BOT or EOT value will be presented in the listing.
