Use the % (percent sign) in any filter field to populate the multi-select box with all available items.

 

The Financials Parent Account selection criteria can be used to narrow down which Accounts will be included in the resulting output.   By default (if no Financials Parent Accounts are selected), no filtering by Financials Parent Account occurs.  

This filter will only return active accounts (in the multi-select box).  To include or exclude active or inactive accounts from the resulting output, you will need to use the controls on the Accounts filter.

By using this filter, the resulting output will include those accounts having a Financials Parent Account that matches the results included in this multi-select box.  Note that the entire account hierarchy is not included in the resulting output but only those accounts having an immediate parent account relationship matching a selected filtered value will be included.

The Admin >> Setup >> Accounts (add/edit) screens are where the Financials Parent Account relationship is established.

 

If you do not want to include all Accounts, you can use the Financials Parent Account  filter option and click on the filter icon () to narrow down the list of items in the multi-select box.  Once you have narrowed down the list, you can further select and de-select individual items in the multi-select box.

The options available to refine the items included in the multi-select box include:

Account Code filter field

Account Desc. filter field

Note that after making any changes to the filter criteria, you will need to click on the filter icon () or enter  to re-populate the multi-select box.
