Project - The Project selection criteria can be used to narrow down which Project Organizations and Projects will be included in the resulting matrix.

Note: the Matrix requires that either the Project or Person filter contain some selection values (in an attempt to prevent users from create a matrix grid that would contain all people and all projects).

If you do not want to include all Project Organizations / Projects, you can use the Project filter options and click on the filter icon (

) to narrow down the list of items in the multi-select box. Once you have narrowed down the list, you can further select and de-select individual items in the multi-select box.

The project filter for Resource Planners and Assigners is limited to those projects to which the user has access via an Organization Access relationship (plus those projects they can see via an alternate relationship). Only those projects to which the user has both Project AND Owning Organization Access visibility will appear in their resulting list.

The options available to refine the items included in the multi-select box include:

You can use the Org. Code and Project Code filter options to refine the entries included.

For example, if you only wanted to include projects from Organization ABC, you could supply ABC in the Org. Code filter field. Further, if you only wanted to include Projects that began with Z from Organization ABC, you would also supply a Z in the Project Code filter field. By supplying filter criteria to the Project Code field only, you can search for all projects that match your criteria across Organizations.

This option will result in the multi-select box displaying a list of Organization Codes. All projects that are currently associated with a particular Project Organization will be included in the multi-select box output.

This option controls whether inactive projects will be included in the multi-select box if the user filters this field.

Each Project Status has an Active indicator. Choosing to include inactive projects will include any projects that have a status that is defined as being inactive.

This option is not available if you select the Show Org Codes in filter only option.

Note: this option only affects the values displayed in the filtered multi-select box. There may be stand alone Active/Inactive check boxes to govern overall report output (in terms of active and inactive project inclusion).

When entering filter criteria, the result set will include entries that match the first X characters entered in the filter criteria. The following characters can be entered as wild cards in the search selection criteria for certain fields:

% -- (percent sign) this character will match any number of characters --- for example: %net would match "Unanet", "Network", and "Basketball Net". By default, the % sign is appended (but not displayed) to all entered filter criteria. Thus entering "Una" alone or entering "Una%", would match: Unanet, UnaTime, Una$ense and UnaSource.
_ -- (underscore) this character will match any one character -- for example: X_Z would match "XYZ" and "XBZ" -- but not "XABZ"
You can also use a combination of these characters for complex matching --- for example: U_an% would match Unanet

Note that you may also specify more than one filter criteria by entering a comma separated list in the filter text box.

For example, to include all items that begin with a and c, format your filter criteria as:

a,c

Note that after making any changes to the filter criteria, you will need to click on the filter icon (

) or enter to re-populate the select box.
