The Tree View selection is required to specify whether the resulting report output should reflect the "Organizational Hierarchy", "Financial Hierarchy", "Cost Pool Hierarchy", or "Consolidation Hierarchy" of organizations.

The Organizational hierarchy includes all organizations, while the Financial and Cost Pool options will only included those organizations designated as 'financial organizations' (this designation is established on the Organization >> Edit >> Financials tab).

The Consolidation Hierarchy includes all legal entities and shows the consolidation parent relationship. This option is available if your system has multi-entity accounting enabled (see Setup Multi-Entity).
